Watercolor Workshop - Working with an Autumn Palette
Saturday, October 11 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Charles McCaughtery
Painting with transparent watercolor. Learn to control water Experiment, different paints, lots of different papers. It is not necessary to have 300 colors on your palette. A limited palette of compatible colors of density and strength are much more manageable, and will have a surprising range of color.
Limited palette, I work in triads of red, yellow, and blue, four to meet different needs. Compatible triads should make a neutral gray when used in equal amounts. One color should not overpower another with opacity or strength. Experiment with colors by making grids of triads.
Experiment with papers of all kinds. Know what they will do and not do.
Have fun!

Exploring Color Relationships Workshop
Saturday, November 1 & Sunday, November 2 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Saturday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Sunday David Lussier
Join us for a colorful exploration into how to paint this popular season like a pro. Autumn attracts both painter and collector alike, but how do we make a statement on our canvas that is appealing to the viewer and not overrun with color?
With a demonstration and discussion by David each morning, we will show you how to capture this season effectively, and have fun doing it. Painting autumn is one of the greatest balancing acts of all time, and by breaking the thought process down into understandable steps, we have a good chance of success.
